Mazda has had tremendous success with its signature SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY in the U.S., but one thing we’re missing in the States is the product’s diesel engine variant. It’s been noticeably absent from Mazda models on the North American market for some time now, but it turns out the automaker does have plans to introduce the engine here in the coming future.

The 2016 World Car of the Year award was presented to the all-new, fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata. This latest accolade is one of many the new MX-5 has collected since it debuted on the market; others include 2016 UK Car of the Year and Car of the Year in Japan.
